The kitchen is entered from the dining area and can be closed off by the "Marie Antoinette" toile curtain which pulls across the entrance to close at a centuries-old wood beam. The entrance is graced by an old-style gear clock and original photos taken by the owner during her trips to the markets of Paris and Provence. Since January 2006, the full-size kitchen has been upgraded with new cherry cabinets, new tile counter tops, and a new dishwasher, laundry washer/dryer, 4-burner stove cook top, microwave and hot water boiler. A skylight above the kitchen sink makes this space especially cheerful. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with a full-size oven and many types and sizes of cooking containers and utensils, as well as as five types of coffee makers and a multi-purpose toaster. There is a wonderful selection of dishware and serving pieces for dining and entertaining. Next to the full-size refrigerator is a wall of pantry and storage cabinets. At the far end of the kitchen is a clothes washer and dryer. |
