The famous brasserie Bofinger is a 2-minute walk from the apartment, and Petit Bofinger is across the street. Bistrot du Dome, specializing in seafood, is also across the street from Bofinger. Chez Paul is nearby on Rue de Charonne, and Blue Elephant Thai Restaurant is 5 minutes away on Rue de la Roquette. For more informal dining, Falstaff Beer and Pizza is open 24 hours and is just next to the front entrance of Cour Damoye on the Place de la Bastille. If you just need a hamburger and fries, or nachos, look no further than the Indiana Restaurant on the corner just outside the front entrance of Cour Damoye. But before you arrive at Indiana, you should stop at Paradis du Fruit for a strawberry kir, or return there on your way home for its chocolate gelato (or you might even decide to dine there on one of its large salads if you change your mind about the burger, nachos or pizza.) And don't miss some of the best hot chocolate ("chocolate chaud") in town at Le Bastille, also located out the front entrance of Cour Damoye, or at Café Francais, across the street. For a special meal and highly visual treat, take the Metro one stop to the Gare de Lyon train station and go up the main staircase into the magnificent Belle Epoch historic monument and restaurant Le Train Bleu.
