There is a Monoprix grocery store within five minutes of the apartment on Rue de la Roquette which is open six days a week until midnight. It carries many gourmet items and will even deliver your groceries to your door! Excellent wine and cheese shops are located on nearby Rue St. Antoine toward the Marais. For late night needs, a mini-market called “Le Petit Marché de la Bastille” is open until 2 a.m. across the street on Rue Daval. If you didn't bring your laptop, an internet cafe called "Milk," located just across Place de la Bastille, is open seven days a week. It also has photocopying and faxing facilities. If you prefer not to use the washer and dryer in the apartment, or if you have an especially large load you want to wash and dry quickly, there is an excellent laundromat (“Laverie”) open 7 days a week about 2 minutes away on Rue de Lappe. There is a dry cleaner (“Pressing”) about 4 minutes away on Rue de la Roquette (near the Monoprix grocery store ).
Every “Tabac” (which is much more than a tobacco store) sells phone cards. There is a Tabac outside the back gate of Cour Damoye and right across the street on Rue Daval. In addition, a very friendly and helpful Tabac is located about 5 minutes away on de la Roquette and is open 7 days a week into the evening hours. There is also an “Orange” phone store on Rue de la Roquette which can assist you with cell phone needs. There are several ATM machines in the area, and there is a full-service post office within 5 minutes and a partial-service post office within 2 minutes of the apartment. |
